Nicholas II, Tsar (1868 – 1918)

A marvellous matte-finish 5.5″ x 7.5″ portrait of Nicholas II affixed to its original 5.75″ x 8″ mount, photograph by C. E. de Hahn & Co., signed at the bottom of the image in Roman characters, in black ink, ‘Nicolas, Reval, 1902’. In very fine condition.

Tsar Nicholas II signed this photograph during his trip to Reval in Estonia between July 23rd to 26th 1902. During the visit he met with Kaiser Wilhelm for political discussions, and viewed the Russalka memorial, which commemorated the loss of Russian sailors in the 1893 sinking of the Rusalka.
