Background

Adam Andrusier began collecting autographs as a teenager, and so brings to his work a great passion for autographs and an appreciation of the unique immediacy of the historical document.

Following Adam Andrusier’s graduation from a music degree at King’s College, Cambridge, he worked as a sessions pianist for West End shows, and was musical director of a comedy revue at the Edinburgh festival. He established his autograph company in 1997, and has exhibited widely ever since. He is a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association (ABA), the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB) and the Professional Autograph Dealers Association (PADA). He has recently handled important autograph material by Karl Marx, Mahatma Gandhi, Sigmund Freud, Charles Darwin, Vincent van Gogh and Winston Churchill.

Adam’s profession inspired his friend, the author Zadie Smith, to write her 2002 novel, The Autograph Man, which she dedicated to him.

His comedy memoir, Two Hitlers and a Marilyn, was published in 2021 by Hachette.

In a crowded field, here at last is a discerning dealer, with great sources and impeccable taste.
