Description
Miller, Arthur (1915 – 2005)
‘The Absurd Theater… has no special key to reality in itself’
A scarce autograph letter signed by Miller. Writing on a postcard that is post-marked September 22nd 1966, the playwright writes in full, ‘Dear Mr. Hughes, The Absurd Theater’s comment is valid insofar as it reflects the bankruptcy of certain conventional ideas (Godot). It is now a convention in itself, however, and is, like all conventions, merely as telling as a particular author can make it. It has no special key to reality in itself, Arthur Miller.’
Highly desirable in this format.
