Leigh, Vivien (1913 – 1967)

A typed letter signed, ‘Vivien Leigh’, one page,  Broadway Theatre, New York, 12th April 1963, to Jack Hines. Leigh thanks her correspondent for their charming letter and continues to remark, ‘I  am delighted to know that you enjoyed “Tovarich”. Thank you for taking the trouble to write and tell me so‘. Laid down to black backing and in fine condition.

Vivien Leigh was cast as Tatiana Petrovna in the original production of the stage musical Tovarich which opened at The Broadway Theatre in New York on 18th March 1963. For her performance Leigh won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical.
