Debussy, Claude (1862 – 1918)

A very rare signed original Nadar portrait, approximately 6.5″ X 4.25″. The composer is shown in thoughtful head and shoulders profile. Signed in fountain pen ink, adding an inscription to violinist Albert Quesnot. The writing is slightly lighter in places, but fully legible. An annotation to the lower border, in another hand, indicates that this was signed in January 1912. Photographer’s mark to the top and bottom, and neatly affixed to card. In very fine condition. Signed photographs of Debussy are rarely encountered.
