Churchill, Winston S. (1874 – 1965)
“Long live the forward march of the common people in all the lands…”
An exceptional large-format war-dated signed photograph by Winston Churchill, approx. 11″ X 15.75″ (image size 8″ x 9.75″), dated 30 November 1941.
Churchill has signed boldly in fountain pen ink just seven days before the bombing of Pearl Harbour, and written out a quotation on the lower matte from his celebrated speech to the French on 21st October 1940.
In full: “Long live the forward march of the common people in all the lands towards their just and true inheritance and towards the broader and fuller age, Winston S. Churchill, November 30, 1941”. In fine condition.
By a long way the finest signed photograph of Churchill that we have encountered.
