Churchill Winston (1874 – 1965)

An astonishing signed approximately 11″ X 14″ wartime portrait by Winston Churchill. Boldly signed in ink to the lower white border, ‘Winston S. Churchill, January 1942’. The leader is shown wearing his military siren suit, and is shown pictured relaxing during the first Washington Conference. The Arcadia Conference, as it became known, was held in December 1941 and January 1942 (concluding on January 14th). It was a meeting between Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt in Washington that established the Allied “Germany First” strategy and created the Combined Chiefs of Staff to coordinate the war effort.

In very fine condition. Extremely rare and desirable in this format. The finest signed photograph of Churchill we have handled.
