A lovely signed 3.5″ X 5.5″ postcard portrait by Annie Besant, the British social activist who campaigned tirelessly for Indian self-rule. A charming photograph of the young Besant, signed boldly in fountain pen ink to a light portion. In very fine condition. Quite scarce in this format’ the first signed image of Besant that we have encountered.
