Romanov Grand Duchesses

An exceptionally rare and desirable 3.5″ X 5.5″ Easter greetings postcard signed by all four of the Romanov Duchesses: Olga Nikolaevna (1895 – 1918), Tatiana Nikolaevna (1897 – 1918), Maria Nikolaevna (1899 – 1918) and Anastasia Nikolaevna (1901 – 1918).  Bold fountain-pen signatures of each of the duchesses are written to the reverse. Tatania has signed in Cyrillic, whilst the others have signed in English script, Anastasia adding the date, 1910. To the top, one of the duchesses writes in Cyrillic, ‘Yes, he has truly risen’ (a customary Easter reference) and then written beneath in English, ‘We thank you very much for the nice cards.’

A small adhesion mark to the top, otherwise in very fine condition. A pencil annotation to the write indicates that this item was originally sold in a Manuscript Society auction in 2002. A highly desirable set of signatures, rarely found in any format.
