Turgenev, Ivan (1818 – 1883)

A good one page autograph letter signed by Turgenev, ‘Iv. Tourgueneff’, 29th January (no year). The author writes in French in fountain pen ink. In full, ‘The painting by Drouais is at Bruant’s, rue de la Chaussée d’Antin, 6. There is also a curious painting by Meissonnier at Petit, rue Saint Georges, 7. I plan to bring you the volume of Leconte de Lisle the day after tomorrow in the morning. Sending my best wishes, Iv. Tourgueneff.’ A straight tear to the left edge, close to but not touching the text, otherwise in very fine condition.
