Description
Picasso, Pablo (1881 – 1973)
A marvellous, closely-written one-page autograph letter signed by Pablo Picasso. Written in bold fountain pen ink, in reference to his not-insignificant earnings in 1952!
The artist writes to his friend Max, 3rd March 1953. He notes that he’s enclosing a cheque for the tax collector, and sending back two pages that he’s signed for the recipient. He goes on, ‘Regarding the money that I paid for 1952, that’s two million or two million four hundred thousand, which means approximately 200,000 francs per month, paid by cheque every 15 days…’ He closes by asking Max to ‘continue with the angelic patience you’ve always had and thank you, thank you, thank you. I kiss you. Your Picasso.’
Light letter folds, otherwise in very fine condition. A fine example.
