Elizabeth, Queen, the Queen Mother (1900 – 2002)

The Queen mothers writes to four-year old Princess Elizabeth’s paediatrician, ‘She is really in perfect health… almost brawny!’

A fine two-page autograph letter signed by the Queen Mother, ‘Elizabeth’, April 27th 1930. Writing to the paediatrician Doctor Still about her four-year old daughter, she opens, ‘Elizabeth will be back in London tomorrow, and I wondered whether you would come in one day next week just to have a look at her?’ She continues, ‘She is really in perfect health, but you have not seen her for over a year, and I would so like to know whether you are pleased with her feet etc. She is becoming almost brawny!’

In very fine condition. A rare reference to Queen Elizebeth II as a young child.
