Elgar writes out a musical quotation from Land of Hope and Glory
An extremely are two-bar autograph musical quotation by Edward Elgar of the theme tune to Land of Hope and Glory. Beautifully written out by the composer on music manuscript paper, identifying the piece at the top as ‘from The Coronation Ode‘ — as it was originally known — composed as it was for the coronation of King Edward VII in 1902. Elgar writes out the words above the music, ‘Land of hope and glory!’ and signs boldly below with his full signature.
In very fine condition, and neatly laid into a larger page.
Extremely rare and desirable in this format — the first we have encountered of its kind.
