Churchill, Winston (1874 – 1965)

An ageing Churchill reflects on Anglo-American friendship

A typed letter signed by Winston Churchill in dark fountain pen ink, ‘W. S. Churchill’, March 18th 1963 on his Hyde Park Gate letterhead. A letter marked ‘private’ to Mr. Pepper, most likely Florida Congressman Claude Pepper. In full: ‘I am indeed obliged to you for your letter, and I am glad to record my memory of your staunch belief in Anglo-American friendship and the many ways in which you have sought to further the interests of our two countries. Please accept my warm personal good wishes.’ In fine condition, with uniform overall toning.
