Bragg, William Lawrence (1890 – 1971)

A signed autograph statement by Bragg, the Australian-born British physicist and X-ray crystallographer who discovered Bragg’s law of X-ray diffraction; Bragg received the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1915.

The physicist writes, in full, on a 3.5″ X 7.5″ sheet, ‘Having been invited by Mr. Horchoon to add my name as a Nobel Laureate to those already in his collection, I am glad to take this opportunity of expressing my pride in being a member of this international fraternity of scientists and my gratitude to its founder and his country, W.L. Bragg.’ He adds the date, May 9th 1940.
