Beckett bemoans ‘unprecedented non-existence’

A good autograph letter signed by Samuel Beckett, Paris, 25th July 1979, on his personal lettercard. The author writes in French, in full, apparently responding to a request to contribute work to a periodical, ‘Dear sir [Marc Dachy], Thank you for your letter. I have nothing to offer you. Which I regret. Write to me to discuss further. The rest has been promised elsewhere. Unprecedented non-existence, going on for a long while, to the right and to the left. Best wishes, Samuel Beckett’. In very fine condition.
